ABC Analyser

The ABC Analyzer is a sandbox environment for users to play around with the ABC analysis of their products. A user can calculate the ABC values for different settings which they self configure, such as:

  • The time period to calculate for
  • The percentage value for which the products are grouped by
  • The confidence factor that each ABC rating translates to

The ABC Analyzer is a non-standard workspace, and can be added to your AGR Inventory set-up if you so choose. Contact your AGR consultant for more information.

This view is meant to be a simple overview of your products, showing only the main columns.

There are two available actions here: ABC Calculate and ABC Update Grouping

ABC Calculate

By clicking on “Actions” in the upper right corner the user can calculate ABC ratings for sold quantity, sales value and turnover respectively for a selected number of months back. This can be done for each location, primary vendor or item group, or even a combination of the three. If the user leaves the drop-down for months empy the default value is 12 months.

ABC Grouping

After playing around with different settings for ABC calculations, we can activate the results so that the active ABC ratings and their corresponding confidence factors are overwritten with the results of your custom ABC calculations.

A user selects from a drop-down list whether they want the ABC calculations to be depending on sold units, profit or turnover. It is also possible to have 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional ABC grouping, as is shown in the example above.

ABC Settings

Under the ABC Settings view, a user can set the cumulative percentage value for which products are grouped by. In the following example, the most significant products with a cumulative percentage of 80% of the total value are given an A rating. The products with the next 15% are given a B rating and the bottom 5% are given a C rating. If the user wants to calculate ABCDE analysis, add lines to the settings view by clicking on the “plus” icon.

Users can expand the ABC calculations to ABCD or ABCDE calculations by adding lines to this view and setting the cumulative percentages accordingly.

New Items Time

In the New Items Time view, a user can define how short the sale history must be for an item to be considered new. In the example below, all items with first sale dates within the last 6 months will be considered new and thus given the ABC rating N.
