Connected items has been added as a standard workspace in AGR Inventory following the 6.2 release. It can be found under the ‘More’ tab in the blue nagivation bar.
Step 1 - Connect Item Numbers Enter a new item number and old item number (which we take sales history from). The new item will display aggregate sales of both item numbers for the selected time period (see step 2).
Step 2 - Connection Period Here you choose between “No end” and “First sale,” which means either the connection is endless (no end) which is usually done if the old item is discontinued, or until the first sale date of the new item which is used if you are taking sales history of a similar item that will continue to sell independently.
Step 3 - Scale If you expect the new item to sell better or worse, you can scale the sales history. If you expect sales to be the same, enter 1 (no scaling), but if it is to scale up e.g. up about 20%, then you enter 1.2 to the scale column.
Step 4 - Connecting Stock Users can connect the inventory to minimize purchases of the new item if the old item is discontinued and still has supplies and / or undelivered items from suppliers. We set the stocks of the older item to 0 while the new item shows the combined stock of the old and the new item. The same applies to undelivered items. Note that you can still see the actual stock on both items in the ERP system.
Step 5 - Connection enabled Here you can choose whether a connection is active or not, but you can also delete the connection by clicking on the delete button in the last column.
It should be kept in mind that it is OK to link items in a chain e.g. items a> b> c but you will get error if you connect items in a circular reference e.g. a> b> a:
Examples of Connected Items:
Below is an example of how connected item numbers appear in the item card:
The old Item (0133 – Montecillo Crianza):
New item (00135 – Campo Viejo Reserva):
Sales comes in as Sale, not Original Sale, and we use Sale to calculate the forecasts. Sales forecasts for related item numbers are run in the nightly job, so you should have a sales forecast for the new item in the morning if you link the items today.
You will also see Sale Comment in the data tab in the item card:
